Dantuluri

Dantuluri is a surname of the Kshatriya Rajus clan who were descendents of the Kota Kings.  Kota Kings were an ancient ruling clan who ruled over small region of Andhra Pradeshwith Dharanikota as their capital in the medieval period. The Royal Dantuluri family belongs to Dhananjaya gotra.


History

From inscriptions Dantuluri Gannabhupala is assumed to be the first King of Danthuluri family of main branch Kota kings after his family moved from Dharanikota in 13th century. After ruling for several years Danthuluri family finally moved and settled in Bhimavaram, where they came to be known as Danthuluri and Gunturi (as they migrated from Guntur district). Dantuluri is also famous in vishakapatnam district.The most people of dantuluri are settled in musalapalli at amalapuram and the legendary person of dantuluri is dgkraju ba,bcom[hons]ma,mcom principal skbr college. AMANAM of Bhimil mandal also famous for royal dantuluri families.There are royal legendary person's like Dantuluri Ranga Raju who is from amanam of visakhapatnam district.
Inscriptions
King Dantuluri Gannabhupala of Kota lineage was mentioned as ruling the tracts about Dharanikota about 1400 AD. 
Famous Telugu poet Srinatha wrote Dhananjaya Vijayam and dedicated it to Dhantuluri Gannabhupala of Kota lineage. 
Mahamuni Kavya Kanta Ganapathi Shastry mentioned in his book that Raja Dantuluri Gannabhupala gave away his daughter Surambika to King Ana Vema Reddy who ruled Addanki, Dharanikota and Kondaveedu in marriage. in marriage. This was mentioned to be the first marriage between Kshatriya and Reddy communities.
